Project Description: Russell Planning and Engineering (RPE) provided Construction Management Representation services for this American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)-funded project. The primary waterline serving Mesa Verde National Park was beyond its useful life and needed to be replaced.The project consisted of the construction of approximately 32,180 linear feet (6.1 miles) of water line and various components between the Chapin Mesa water tanks and the Park’s north boundary in Montezuma Valley.
RPE was on site within the park full time to coordinate efforts between the contractor, local Park staff and the Denver Service Center of the National Park Service. RPE provided Quality Assurance for the demolition, construction and installation of the entire pipeline and all components while monitoring, reporting and recommending mitigation methods for impacts caused by the construction to the Park’s natural resources.
