Project Description: Russell Engineering, Inc. designed the southern ball field and parking area for the La Plata County Fairgrounds.  Working with the project architect, Flanagan Architecture, and the general contractor, FCI Construction, Russell Engineering, Inc. oversaw civil design issues throughout the design and construction phase.  We designed the site grading and storm drain system, and we faced the additional challenge of designing around existing structures and parking areas.  The parking area was designed as a multi-use area to accommodate normal traffic, recreational vehicles, and large summer events such as the Carnival.  The ball field was a multi-use area as well, designed for baseball and soccer. Scope of services included Master Plan development, civil engineering design, architectural design, lighting design, landscape architecture and construction management.
