Lake Durango Water Authority Master Plan

RPE completed a Safe Yield Analysis, Preliminary Engineering Report, and Master Plan for Lake Durango Water Authority in 2011.   Lake Durango currently has roughly 1200 customers and 250 committed taps, but is severely limited by their existing water supply.

As a part of the work RPE completed for LDWA, they identified the existing Safe Yield, or number of customers that could be safely served during a drought without water restrictions, prioritized additional sources of water for the system and then created a Capital Improvements Plan as a part of the Master Plan.

Lake Durango Water Authority then took that document and was able to secure USDA and DOLA funding in order to run a raw water main from Lake Nighthorse to LDWA’s treatment plant located at Lake Durango.  The work RPE completed will help LDWA continue to improve their system and serve a greater number of user’s south west of Durango for years to come.
